Key Responsibilities- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot precision measuring equipment and systems.
- Perform dimensional inspections of manufactured parts, tooling, and assemblies using various metrology tools.
- Document and maintain accurate calibration records, measurement data, and inspection reports.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve measurement discrepancies and equipment malfunctions.
- Develop, implement, and improve measurement procedures and techniques.
- Provide technical support and training to production and engineering personnel on metrology best practices.
- Ensure all measurement activities comply with internal quality standards and external regulations (e.g., ISO, NIST).
- Proficiency in operating and programming a range of metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers).
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Solid understanding of measurement principles, calibration techniques, and basic statistical process control (SPC).
- Experience with common metrology software packages (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso) for data acquisition and analysis.
- Relevant technical degree or certification in metrology, quality assurance, or a related engineering field.
- Experience programming CMMs (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso) or automated vision systems.
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Inventor) for model-based inspection.
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) software and methodologies (e.g., Minitab).
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or experience with continuous improvement projects.
