NPI Engineer | Mattawan, MI

Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the transfer of new products from R&D to manufacturing.
• Define and optimize manufacturing processes for new product introductions.
• Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability and testability.
• Develop and implement production control plans and quality assurance procedures.
• Manage and mitigate risks associated with new product launches.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for NPI issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for NPI processes and tools.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with electronics assembly.
• Proven experience with CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, OrCAD) for PCB design and layout.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, DFM principles, and quality control methodologies.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for automation and data analysis.
• Familiarity with PLM/ERP systems for managing product data and BOMs.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with optical inspection systems.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing methodologies.
• Proficiency in Python scripting for data analysis or test automation.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers or lead small project teams.
