IATF Quality Engineer | Newaygo, MI
Salary Range: $78,000 - $112,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain IATF 16949 compliant quality management systems.
- Lead and participate in internal and external IATF 16949 audits, driving corrective actions.
- Utilize core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC) for new product development and process improvement.
- Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement robust corrective and preventive actions (8D, 5 Whys).
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee supplier quality, including qualification, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Develop and deliver quality training programs to manufacturing personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge and practical application of IATF 16949 standards and core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
- Proven ability to lead problem-solving initiatives using methodologies like 8D, 5 Whys, or Fishbone diagrams.
- ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, CSSBB) are highly desirable.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification
- Experience with AIAG Core Tools training and implementation
- Strong knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and Minitab
- Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies and Lean principles
