Welding Engineer | Rockford, MI
Salary Range: $84,000 - $124,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are partnering with organizations in Rockford that are seeking Welding Engineers. These companies are committed to building strong teams and are looking for professionals who can lead initiatives effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize welding procedures for various manufacturing processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for welding defects.
- Specify and qualify welding equipment, consumables, and robotic systems.
- Provide technical support and training to welding technicians and production staff.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and customer specifications.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for welding quality, cost, and efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, with a focus on welding processes.
- Proficient in various welding techniques (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW) and their applications.
- Strong knowledge of metallurgy, material science, and their impact on weld quality.
- Experience with NDT methods and interpreting results.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME).
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
- Experience with robotic welding systems and automation
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD) for design and analysis
- Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods beyond visual inspection
