Lean Engineer

Location: Byron Center

Job Responsibilities

* Identifies, plans, and implements activities designed to reduce costs while improving quality, safety, and delivery methods.

* Implements and drives continuous improvement activities through the application of change management and best practices.

* Develops Value Stream Mapping (VSM) plans for assigned facilities. Builds Kaizen plans and roadmaps for identified areas of opportunity.

* Supports regular President's Kaizen events.

* Develops corrective action plans based on Lean assessments.

* Upholds cost reduction programs to achieve annual operational savings objectives.

* Trains colleagues on best practices for Lean techniques and methodologies. Serves as subject matter expert.

* Monitors and audits key performance indicators (KPI's) to ensure data is valid and accurate and makes recommendations for root cause problem-solving actions.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

* Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.

* Ability to clearly communicate project performance and results to Management and prepare associated presentations as needed.

* Proficient in facilitating consensus among diverse viewpoints within a group, even amidst differing opinions.

* Demonstrated track record of thriving in team environments and strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build rapport.

Educational Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience required.

Experience Requirements

* Three years of engineering experience required.

* Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

* Strong background in Lean manufacturing and engineering.
