In December 2024, United Engineers and Constructors was acquired by Aecon Group Inc. Aecon and United have a proven working relationship and the United team continues to operate in the market as an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company.
We’re looking for a Project Engineering Manager to support Nuclear Generating Stations in the Detroit/Chicago/Toledo area. The successful candidate will be working as a liaison with the clients and with a team of Engineers and Designers on the support of plant modification packages.
What You'll Do Here- Serve as primary representative for UECI as a field liaison between the client and engineering group.
- Provide engineering management and guidance to subordinate staff, enforce company and project policies, and serve as a liaison between UECI and client interface.
- Plan and manage work activities to ensure successful project execution while maintaining safety, quality, schedule, and budget adherence.
- Demonstrate and provide project leadership in their area of responsibility while often working under the supervision of a Project Director or above.
- Supervise and delegate tasks among staff.
- Monitor day‑to‑day activities and proactively identify potential project problems or opportunities, analyze issues using all appropriate resources, develop alternatives, and arrive at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities.
- Demonstrate knowledge of resources and capabilities of other groups for appropriate incorporation into project organization.
- Clearly understand the scope of work and contract requirements or those that pertain to the area of responsibility.
- Support or conduct formal status reporting and presentations to client and/or management.
- B.S. Engineering Degree from an accredited university in an Engineering Discipline.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License in any State with ability to be licensed in other States by Comity.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a nuclear plant.
- Preferred 3 years’ experience in a leadership position.
- Experience working with others in a Project Team environment.
- Written and oral communication skills.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work in a multi‑tasked environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access at a nuclear power plant.
