POSITION OVERVIEW
This Geotechnical Engineer role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful infrastructure, shoreline, and environmental projects that directly support community development and sustainability. The ideal candidate will perform hands‑on geotechnical analysis, field investigations, and design work across a variety of complex projects. This position is best suited for an engineer who thrives in both field and office environments and enjoys seeing projects through from analysis to construction support.

- Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and calculations, including slope stability, settlement, and foundation evaluations
- Prepare, review, and present geotechnical reports, technical proposals, cost estimates, and design documentation
- Lead and support field investigations, including drilling oversight, soil/rock sampling, testing, and site inspections
- Evaluate subsurface conditions and develop engineering recommendations based on geologic and laboratory data
- Support construction‑phase activities such as earthwork, dewatering, excavation support, and instrumentation monitoring
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams while contributing to project planning and technical presentations
- Experience in geotechnical engineering, including analysis, design, and field investigation work
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics, soil‑structure interaction, and geotechnical design principles
- Ability to perform and interpret geotechnical analyses using industry‑standard software tools
Experience with fieldwork, including sampling, site inspection, and construction support activities - Professional licensure in Michigan or another state, or ability to obtain licensure within a defined timeframe
Compensation is dependent on experience, licensure, and technical expertise, with a total annual salary range of $80,000–$115,000.
