Caterpillar-Switchgear Production Engineer Assistant
The main function of this role is to assist Caterpillar-Switchgear production engineers with creating, editing, publishing project drawing packages for manufacturing and asbuilt statuses. Assist with the development or EPLAN software.
Job Responsibilities:- Modify existing project drawings and project databases to make changes.
- Review project requests concerning technical electrical controls design and implantation of electrical controls hardware.
- Work part of a team to develop EPLAN CAD software. Building libraries, templates, circuits, databases etc…
- Assist with training documentation and training for rest of the team concerning EPLAN.
• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time. Work on multiple projects in various stages.
• Basic knowledge of the full EPLAN software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery of EPLAN.
• Basic ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve any issues.
• Mid-level knowledge of electronic controls equipment in schematic and physical layouts to apply in CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN).
• Knowledge of CAD software across multiple platforms.
• Troubleshoot Electrical design for QC Control.
• Basic understanding of IEEE, NEC, NFPA, ANSI, UL certifications and how the apply to electrical controls in Panels and switch gear.
