Radio Engineer Dimondale, MI; Hybrid

Seeking for an experienced Radio Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and deploying radio programming templates for public safety radio systems, ensuring accurate programming, encryption, asset management, and operational support for mission-critical communications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with P25 radio programming, Motorola and Kenwood radios, and public safety communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, modify, and maintain radio programming templates for radios.
• Configure Radio IDs, Talk groups, channels, and encryption settings.
• Coordinate radio programming requests and validate customer requirements.
• Perform quality assurance testing on programming templates before deployment.
• Program and update radios using approved templates and encryption keys.
• Maintain accurate equipment records using Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems and related databases.
• Utilize Microsoft Access and Excel to track programming activities and equipment information.
• Support field technicians with radio programming, troubleshooting, and technical assistance.
• Investigate and resolve radio communication and programming issues.
• Assist in evaluating new radio hardware and software for compliance with system standards.
• Test new programming software and support implementation activities.
• Maintain documentation, activity reports, and programming records.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Three years of experience as a Radio/Communications Technician
• Two years of experience with P25 Radio Programming (Motorola & Kenwood)

Desired Experience:

• Two-way radio experience
• Previous P25 encryption experience/KMF (AES)

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Duties may involve use of personal vehicle
• FCC General Radio Telephone License, APCO Certificate, or approved equivalent
