** Job Overview*
* Do you love working on cars? This role is built for engineers who bring genuine automotive passion and hands-on mechanical curiosity to the table. As a Torque Security Calibration Engineer, you'll join a Functional Safety Calibration team based primarily at Chelsea Proving Grounds, working side-by-side with experienced calibration engineers to test and validate real vehicles across diverse conditions. This role matters because every calibration you help develop and verify directly protects driver safety - ensuring vehicles respond correctly even when something goes wrong.

It's an ideal fit for a recent engineering graduate, or someone early in their career, who would rather be out driving and testing vehicles than stuck behind a desk, and who's excited to learn from a supportive, collaborative team.

**️ What's the Job?*
* + Plan, generate, and verify feature calibrations across hot climate, cold climate, and high-altitude conditions

+ Manipulate and analyze large, complex engine mapping data sets to solve problems related to functional safety, performance, fuel consumption, and emissions

+ Work cross-functionally with engine development, powertrain controls, and vehicle teams to implement calibration solutions

+ Perform fault injection on sensors (pedal, brake, throttle, MAP, etc.) and validate fail-safe/limp-home vehicle behavior

+ Conduct hands-on vehicle testing using breakout harnesses and diagnostic equipment

+ Execute vehicle reaction testing and support large test matrices (up to ~1,000 tests) ahead of production launch

+ Coordinate with unionized shop personnel on vehicle updates, repairs, instrumentation, and testing activities

+ Drive and evaluate development vehicles at proving grounds, documenting and communicating results to engineering teams

+ Participate in technical reviews, calibration discussions, and issue resolution meetings

+ Travel periodically throughout the year to support system validation and verification activities, typically driving company vehicles on official calibration trips

**✅ What's Needed?*
* + Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field

+ 0-3 years of engineering experience - strong recent graduates are encouraged to apply

+ Hands-on automotive experience or passion, demonstrated through personal vehicle projects, automotive hobbies, SAE/FSAE programs, automotive clubs, or relevant internships/co-ops

+ Willingness to perform hands-on vehicle work, including testing, troubleshooting, and failure mode validation

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills

+ Ability to work effectively across multiple engineering groups and with unionized shop personnel

+ Willingness to travel as required for validation and verification activities

+ Flexibility to support occasional extended hours and weekend work during critical testing events, launch activities, or field concerns

+ Nice to have: MATLAB and/or Simulink experience, prior calibration/controls/powertrain experience, knowledge of vehicle sensors and OBD systems

** What's in it for me?*
* This role offers an excellent launchpad for recent engineering graduates, with exposure to full vehicle systems rather than a single component. You'll learn directly from experienced calibration engineers in a diverse, fast-paced environment built around continual learning. Join a team known for strong culture and very low turnover, led by a manager who values collaboration,…
