Process Engineer II

Our client, a business manufacturing and supply company, is looking for a Process Engineer II for their Hemlock, MI location.

Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on engineering support on the manufacturing floor to troubleshoot equipment, product, process, and operational issues.
• Analyze data, observations, and process conditions to identify root causes and improvement opportunities.
• Recommend, implement, and verify corrective actions to improve quality, uptime, throughput, and process stability.
• Support equipment start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, qualification, and process optimization.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, and vendors to resolve issues and sustain improvements.
• Maintain procedures, standard work, technical documentation, and clear communication of findings and recommendations.

• Manufacturing floor troubleshooting
• Root cause analysis and corrective action
• Equipment, process, and product issue resolution
• Data analysis and process improvement
• Cross-functional collaboration with operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including clear technical documentation and communication of findings, risks, and recommendations
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or another STEM field required.
• Hands-on experience in a manufacturing, production, industrial, or plant environment.
• Demonstrated ability to identify equipment, product, process, or operational issues and implement corrective actions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safe work practices and compliance with plant procedures.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience with root cause analysis, Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, or other continuous improvement methods.
• Familiarity with manufacturing systems, process controls, data analysis tools, and production performance metrics.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to spend time on the manufacturing floor engaging with operators and observing processes.
