Quality Engineer
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier that designs and manufactures metal-formed, welded, and assembled components for many of the world's largest automotive OEMs. This opportunity is based at a high-volume manufacturing facility that supports structural automotive products through advanced stamping, welding, and assembly operations. The plant is in a significant growth phase, with multiple tooling transfers, equipment installations, and new program launches, creating an immediate need for additional quality support.
Responsibilities
- Respond to customer quality concerns and perform root cause analysis and problem solving.
- Support day-to-day quality issues on the production floor and drive corrective actions and containment activities.
- Work directly with operations and production teams to support tooling transfers, equipment launches, and production readiness activities.
- Develop and maintain Control Plans, PFMEAs, Process Flow Diagrams, inspection plans, and quality records.
- Investigate quality concerns, drive corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct Layered Process Audits (LPAs) and support IATF quality standards.
- Provide hands-on quality support for production layouts, launch activities, and manufacturing readiness efforts.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience within automotive manufacturing in a fast-paced environment.
- Extensive hands-on experience developing and submitting complete PPAP packages.
- Strong understanding of customer quality requirements and customer portal submissions.
- Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams, MSA, SPC, and Corrective Action Methodologies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related technical discipline preferred.
- Automotive stamping, welding, or assembly experience is preferred.
- Experience supporting structural automotive components or vehicle frame/body systems.
- Familiarity with IATF, ISO, Layered Process Audits (LPA), and TPM initiatives.

This is a Contract position based out of Bad Axe, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
