Position Summary:

The Engineering Designer will create technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software. They will perform all drafting related functions as described below. All drafting projects are assigned and approved by their supervisor. This position will report to our Engineering Manager.

Essential Functions of the Job:

Using CAD software, generate new drawings as assigned

Maintain drafting related records; i.e. number logs, filing, etc.

Perform routine revisions as directed by department engineers.

Plot/print drawings for production personnel or others as needed.

Complete work in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner.

Understand and use all existing and future company drawing standards.

Use Solid Edge 3D, ACAD 2D, Microsoft Office programs

Adhere to all company safety policies, work rules and standard operating procedures.

Assist other designing engineers as needed.

Other duties as required.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

(KSA’s):

Experience in mechanical hardware drawings.
GD&T is preferred.
Understanding of basic math and print reading is required.
Basic written, typing and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work well with others.
Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic circuits a plus.

Ability to communicate with various levels within the organization.
Effective planning and project management skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects and priorities.

Demonstrated ability to exhibit and model Alamo Group's Leadership

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
One (1) year of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) in secondary education is preferred. Will consider experience in lieu of this requirement.
An associate’s degree in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and experience in heavy equipment design is a plus.
