A great UHY client is seeking a Sr. Manager, Commercial Finance to join their team.

The ideal candidate will have strong commercial finance experience, advanced financial analysis skills, and a background supporting pricing, profitability, and strategic initiatives within a manufacturing or packaging environment.

The Sr. Manager, Commercial Finance role is an onsite position located in Manchester, MI.

This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.

Sr. Manager, Commercial Finance Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary Commercial Finance partner to Commercial Directors and business segments, driving profitability and top‑line growth.
  • Provide financial leadership and analysis related to new and existing product pricing, contract management, capital investments, and customer and product line profitability.
  • Lead financial analysis supporting segment strategic initiatives and forward‑looking growth opportunities.
  • Identify profit leakages and implement actions to enhance overall segment and key account profitability.
  • Partner with the Beverage Commercial Team on complex Tier 1 and Tier 2 contract negotiations and RFQ processes.
  • Develop and analyze commercial proposals involving multiple products, locations, and capital investment considerations.
  • Conduct financial analysis on light weighting initiatives, footprint moves, PCR inclusion, and customer‑driven requests.
  • Analyze product, plant, and customer profitability and implement targeted return pricing initiatives.
  • Review freight, material upcharges, and operational complexity to support pricing and margin improvement.
  • Lead Commercial Finance activities within the RFQ process, including market‑based pricing, quotation performance tracking, and reporting.
  • Support Customer Account Teams with value selling propositions, contract development, profitability improvement actions, and proactive account planning.
  • Participate in customer meetings and calls to provide financial insights, implications, and decision support.
  • Develop and approve regional and national account pricing using pricing systems, market reports, competitive intelligence, and win/loss analysis.
  • Utilize tools such as SAP, BW, CRM, and costing databases for data mining and profitability improvement planning.
  • Assist Commercial Directors with competitive intelligence, value preservation strategies, and disruptive technology analysis.
  • Support budgeting, strategic planning, and strategic pricing initiatives across key accounts and business units.
  • Develop and implement contract clauses to protect profitability, including cost recovery tied to PPI, materials, energy, freight, and operational changes.
  • Prepare and support capital budgets, capacity planning, and capital expenditure analysis.
  • Gain a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, cost to produce expectations, equipment capabilities, and capital investment opportunities.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Marketing on new product development, innovation projects, and new market opportunities.
  • Provide finance leadership on strategic and cross‑functional projects.
Sr. Manager, Commercial Finance

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field required.
  • Seven or more years of experience in commercial finance, FP&A, or strategic finance within manufacturing, packaging, or a related industry.
  • Strong experience supporting pricing, RFQs, contract negotiations, and customer profitability analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and partner with commercial and operational teams.
  • Advanced financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management skills.
  • Experience with ERP and analytics tools such as SAP, BW, CRM, or similar systems.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Experience in capital investment analysis, cost optimization, and margin improvement initiatives preferred.
  • Background in beverage, rigid packaging, manufacturing, or CPG industries is highly preferred.
