Overview

This role provides specialized wealth planning for High Net Worth / Ultra High Net Worth (HNW/UHNW) clients, leveraging expertise in financial, tax, succession, philanthropic, will, estate, and trust planning to support long‑term financial objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Partner collaboratively with planning professionals and Relationship Managers to deliver comprehensive wealth planning advice.
  • Facilitate and participate in goals‑based discovery processes directly with clients, ensuring data capture and plan standards are met.
  • Demonstrate a consultative and collaborative value‑added approach in client conversations, acting as a member of a client strategy team.
  • Apply consultative sales and wealth‑planning principles, practices, and techniques in all client interactions.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert in specialized planning areas, including regulations and policies, to provide insights and solutions.
  • Leverage financial analysis in developing detailed and complex financial plans.
  • Consult with clients and their external advisors on complex issues as required.
  • Provide commentary and awareness on emerging trends and new legislation through articles, case laws, and advanced planning solutions.
  • Develop content for training, internal resources, and client‑facing materials.
  • Lead and participate in educational programs on specialized planning within BMO and for clients.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external networks and referral sources to support business growth.
  • Protect the bank’s assets by adhering to all banking and investment regulations, policies, legal and ethical requirements, and risk guidelines.
  • Operate at a group/enterprise level, serving as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Apply expertise creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and find solutions to complex problems.
  • Implement changes in response to shifting trends while taking measured risks within the bank’s risk framework.
Qualifications
  • 5–9 years of relevant experience and a university degree in a related field; postgraduate degree desirable.
  • Relevant professional designation considered an asset.
  • Experience dealing with HNW/UHNW clients.
  • Proven track record in developing and growing a profitable financial or related client services business.
  • Extensive knowledge of wealth‑planning strategies, issues, and trends.
  • Broad knowledge of financial institutions, services, and products.
  • Broad knowledge of investment management principles, economics, and financial markets.
  • Verbal and written communication skills – in‑depth/expert.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills – in‑depth/expert.
  • Influence skills – in‑depth/expert.
  • Collaboration and team skills with a focus on cross‑group collaboration – in‑depth/expert.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $91,800.00 – $ (salaried). Compensation may include commission and performance‑based incentives. Benefits include health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
