The Center Line Fire Department is currently accepting applications for Paid-on-Call Fire Fighters. To be eligible, applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED, must be 18 years old, must live within 5 miles of city limits, must have no criminal record and a good driving record. Must be Michigan Fire Fighter I & II, all individuals meeting the minimum qualifications will be given an interview.

Paid-on-Call Fire Fighters may provide coverage on nights and weekends. This part time position responds to alarms or requests for service, acts in emergencies such as storms, medical emergencies, extinguishing fires and performs service work as directed. You will work under the supervision of the Fire Chief or designated supervisor.

Compensation: All fire gear is provided, and fire fighters are provided with a uniform allowance along with an hourly wage. The city will sponsor qualified applicants who are willing to pay for their own fire academy, the sponsorship will reduce the cost of the academy for the applicant.

Conditional Employment Requirement: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon passing a Physical Abilities test. Successfully completed a thorough background investigation and physical exam including drug screen.
