This position will perform a full range of locksmith and electronic access system duties, including the installation, maintenance and repair of locks, doors, and hardware, opening of locks on doors and safes, and the changing of lock combinations in state facilities at the worksite. Other duties include general carpentry, such as repairing, adjusting, and maintaining door hardware, mechanisms, and frames as needed.

This job is with the State of Michigan, located in Grayling, MI. The salary range is $23.84 - $33.61 hourly. The job is permanent full time with a job number CG-26-101. The department is Military and Veterans Affairs.
The required education and experience for this position includes educational level typically acquired through completion of high school. For Locksmith 8, two years of experience assisting in the locksmith trade is required. For Locksmith E9, four years of experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of locks, including two years equivalent to a Locksmith 8, is required.
Alternate education and experience options include completion of a recognized program in vocational training for locksmithing, which may substitute for two years of experience.

Vacation and Sick Leave:
Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions. Paid Parental Leave:
Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child. Paid Holidays:
