The Tax Compliance Bureau (TCB), Tobacco Enforcement section within the Discovery & Tax Enforcement Division, is recruiting for a candidate to lead our Tobacco Tax Enforcement Section. We are looking for a candidate that can manage multi-tasking complex assignments, has knowledge of project planning and execution, and can actively manage and supervise the Tobacco Enforcement Section. This position will also involve enforcing compliance with the Tobacco Product Tax Act (TPTA).
The perfect candidate will be responsible for all field tobacco compliance checks and enforcement activities statewide. The Tobacco Enforcement Manager will also be responsible for ensuring consistency and adherence with policies, procedures, and established guidelines in relation to the inspection and enforcement of the Tobacco Product Tax Act. Education and Experience
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major. Four years of professional experience providing regulation and investigative services equivalent to a Regulation Agent or Regulation Officer, including two years equivalent to a Regulation Agent P11 or Regulation Officer P11, or one year equivalent to a Regulation Agent 12 or Regulation Officer 12.

For our purposes, "official college transcripts" must contain the applicant's name, college/university name and address, the degree conferred, and date granted, coursework completed (especially if no degree granted), the Registrar's signature and/or seal, and MUST be recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Applicants who possess a degree from a foreign college or university MUST have their academic credentials evaluated or converted into U.S. educational equivalents unless the degree has been recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Civil Service accepts evaluations of foreign credentials from National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc.
(AICE). Failure to provide this evaluation at the time of application may result in you being screened out of the process. Military Experience. For those applicants with military service, please provide your DD214 or other official military documentation that may help identify transferable skills and experience that may qualify in lieu of the required education. Fingerprinting. This position has a FTINPRINT sub-class code. The sub-class code indicates the position has access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and requires passing of a fingerprint-based background check per IRS Publication 1075. Remote Work. To perform the duties and responsibilities of this position, all work must be performed in Michigan. If you are a State of Michigan resident, this position is eligible to work remotely on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and must work onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Additionally, the selected candidate must have a secure, safe and appropriate designated workspace that allows privacy and prevents distractions while performing the duties of this position, as well as secure and sufficient internet access of commercial cable or wireless broadband with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
