Community Assistant

Starting at: $17+ per hour

Kalkaska Memorial Assisted Living is seeking a compassionate Community Assistant to support resident wellness, independence, and daily living needs. This hands‑on role blends caregiving, companionship, housekeeping, and meal service to help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming community.

• Assist residents with dressing, hygiene, bathing, and mobility.
• Escort residents to meals and activities; support social engagement, and transport to onsite doctor appointments.
• Take vital signs and administer medications within training scope.
• Maintain cleanliness in resident apartments and community areas, including linens and laundry.
• Support meal preparation, serving, and sanitation tasks.
• Promote safety, uphold KMHC values, and provide excellent interpersonal care.
• Work every other weekend, holidays, and respond to required call-ins.
• Other duties as assigned.

• CPR and First Aid certification (required - on-the-job training available).
• Successful criminal background check.
• Completion of all KMHC training with demonstrated competency.

• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, lift, kneel, and perform hands‑on resident care tasks.
