Meets with the patient and/or family to explain insurance coverage, treatment costs, hospital billing policies and to inform them of their financial obligations upon discharge;
Sets up payment plans;
Makes financial arrangements for patients without insurance or with inadequate insurance coverage and communicates available financial assistances program for self-pay patients;
Accesses insurance eligibility websites to verify benefits and coverage
