Job Title

Physical Therapist, Part‑Time, Acute Care – Bronson South Haven & Bronson Lakeview

Location

BLH Bronson Lake View Hospital, BSH Bronson South Haven

Compensation

Part‑time, 24 weekly hours. $10,000 sign‑on bonus.

Shift

First Shift. Part‑time scheduled weekly hours 24. Cost Center 4000 Physical Therapy Acute Care (BSH).

Qualifications
  • Licensed Physical Therapist in good standing for the State of Michigan.
  • Graduates from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • BLS required within 3 months after hire.
  • Current driver’s license in Michigan and availability of a daily business vehicle.
  • Proof of valid auto insurance and successful MVR check prior to start date.
  • Keyboarding skills to operate a PC/mobile device.
  • Effective communication in English and social sensitivity.
  • Ability to work as a team member and communicate with patients, visitors, and the care team.
  • High level of interpersonal skills for delicate patient care matters.
Responsibilities Clinical Duties
  • Interpret and implement referrals; evaluate patient functional abilities and disabilities such as range of motion, strength, coordination, etc. through standardized assessment and testing; establish functional baseline for progress monitoring.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary discussion, rounds, and clinics.
  • Establish education and treatment planning.
  • Conduct family and community education.
  • Set patient care goals and estimate length of treatment.
  • Provide direct patient care, including conducting individual and/or group physical therapy activities per treatment plan; facilitate and instruct patients in required skills.
  • Design and fabricate splints and other assistive devices as needed.
  • Participate in program development and departmental process improvement.
  • Serve as a resource person in areas of expertise.
  • Provide in‑services in areas of expertise for the Bronson Rehabilitation System.
  • Cross‑train and provide coverage at other departments within Rehabilitation Services as needed.
Administration Duties
  • Document evaluations, treatment plans, treatments performed, and progress; indicate condition relative to goals and alterations to enhance therapy potential.
  • Document in the electronic health record per compliance timelines.
  • Communicate to leadership any limitations that prevent timely documentation.
  • Maintain accurate, legible, and complete records for each person served.
  • Serve on committees and task forces.
  • Participate in process improvement.
  • Demonstrate time‑management skills.
  • Supervise PTA, Rehab Clinical Assistant, PT students, PTA students, volunteers, and athletic trainer.
