Job Summary:

We are seeking a Phlebotomist I to join our team in Saint Johns, MI. The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while collecting high-quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong phlebotomy skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections on patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
Accurately collect, label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
Maintain patient confidentiality while ensuring accurate documentation and record keeping.
Explain collection procedures to patients to create a comfortable and professional experience.
Follow established safety protocols and specimen collection procedures.
Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collections as required.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Work independently while meeting productivity and quality standards.
Promote a positive image of the organization through professional interactions with patients and staff.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
Strong venipuncture skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Basic keyboard and data entry proficiency.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

1+ year of phlebotomy experience.
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required only in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Previous experience in a patient service center, laboratory, retail, or customer service environment.
