Job Overview

We are seeking a Technician I for our 2nd Shift Clinical Pathology Team in Mattawan MI
. A Technician I is in training to perform and become proficient in onboarding skills, procedures, and collaboration in a team environment. The technician learns basic skills required to conduct a study, which may include biological sample management (labeling, delivery, aliquoting, processing, verification), cleaning of lab and equipment, preparation, staining, and consolidation of slides. The technician works under close supervision to gain proficiency.

The pay for this position is $20/hr + 10% shift differential.

Job Description
  • Perform technical tasks in the conduct of in‑vivo research studies or support services in accordance with good animal welfare practices.
  • Prepare, collect and record research data and specimens in compliance with applicable regulations and SOPs.
  • Ensure good welfare and humane care for all animals worked with through gentle, positive human‑animal interactions.
  • Train in onboarding skills: biological sample management, lab cleaning, slide preparation, staining, and consolidation, as directed by the training plan and business needs.
  • Collect, document, review, and verify data on forms or in electronic data capture systems.
  • Review documentation of functions performed as part of quality control requirements.
  • Use and maintain instrumentation and equipment.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education:

    High school diploma or G.E.D. required;
    Bachelor’s degree in a biological science preferred.
  • Experience:

    No prior experience required.
  • Certification/Licensure:
    None, unless required by local government.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities to achieve goals.
  • Computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and ability to learn a validated system.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following all safety procedures and wearing protective clothing and equipment.
  • Ensure integrity of studies and compliance with GLP, SOP, BOP, and IACUC regulations.
  • Work extended hours beyond the normal schedule, including evenings, weekends and short‑notice shifts.
  • Work under specific time constraints.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without a sponsor visa.
