We are seeking an experienced and driven Director of Rehabilitation to lead therapy operations within our skilled nursing facility. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the rehabilitation department, ensuring exceptional resident outcomes, regulatory compliance, strong team performance, and collaborative interdisciplinary care planning.
The ideal candidate is a licensed therapy professional with strong leadership skills, a passion for quality resident care, and experience in post-acute or long-term care settings.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations of the rehabilitation department including Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy services
- Lead, coach, schedule, and support therapy staff to ensure high performance and engagement
- Monitor resident progress, outcomes, treatment plans, and therapy delivery standards
- Collaborate with nursing, physicians, case management, and facility leadership on resident care plans and discharge planning
- Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, PDPM, billing documentation, and state/federal regulations
- Manage productivity, department budgets, staffing levels, and operational efficiency
- Maintain strong census support through timely evaluations and admissions readiness
- Promote excellent customer service for residents, families, and referral partners
- Prepare for surveys, audits, and maintain readiness at all times
- Current license as PT, PTA, OT, OTA, or SLP in the state of Michigan
- Previous rehabilitation leadership or management experience preferred
- Skilled nursing / post-acute care experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, PDPM, reimbursement systems, and therapy documentation requirements
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build culture, accountability, and strong interdisciplinary relationships
