Hospice Comfort Companion Volunteer

Overview

Comfort Companion Volunteer role providing end-of-life care through companionship for hospice patients and their families. Volunteers visit patients in local nursing facilities and/or private residences, offering companionship, activities, and support as described by the program.

• Visit patients to provide companionship and emotional support in nursing facilities or private homes
• Engage in activities such as playing cards/games, watching TV, reading, and other approved forms of friendly interaction
• Offer a non-judgmental, compassionate presence and adaptable support to patients and families

• Compassionate and good listener
• Non-judgmental and adaptable with a strong desire to support others
• Reliable and respectful of patients and families
