Mammogram Technologist PRN (BSH)

Location: BSH Bronson South Haven

Schedule: Variable Time, Part time, Weekly Hours 10

Job Summary: Under minimal supervision and per established policies, perform radiographic studies of breast tissue, including opening/closing the unit, preparing paperwork, and assisting with related duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Open, prepare, and test equipment each morning.
• Collect and organize paperwork and supplies for scheduled exams.
• Greet patients, take brief histories, and provide exam orientation.
• Conduct radiographic examinations, develop and quality‑check images.
• Determine need for additional views or radiologist consultation.
• Verify image readability before releasing patient.
• Prepare patient files for radiologist review, ensuring all forms are complete.
• Maintain department cleanliness and secure supplies.
• Perform quality assurance and perform QA testing on machines and processors.
• Assist with Sterio‑tactic Needle Localization, biopsies, and specialized imaging views.
• Maintain unsupervised access to medication room as required.
• Adhere to safety, compliance, and professional standards.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Radiography or related field (required).
• Registered in Diagnostic Radiology (required).
• Registered in Mammography through ARRT within 1 year of hire.
• Proficiency in communication, interpersonal, customer relations, math, grammar, spelling.
• Ability to cope with confrontation, handle multiple priorities, make fast decisions under pressure.
• High flexibility, patience, ability to work shift‑work, and in high‑stress environments.

Working Conditions:

• Regular standing or walking, lifting light‑weight objects (≤20 lbs), occasional heavier tasks.
• Visual and mental fatigue from detailed work, sustained concentration, and computer use.
• Work near or in crowded areas.
