Overview

Title: Head Athletic Trainer

Location: Ypsilanti, MI - Lincoln High School

Status: Full Time

This position provides direct front-line support for affiliate athletes throughout the contract and/or athletic season in a Multi-athletic high school or collegiate setting. Works directly with the affiliate stakeholders to provide athletic training services for its athletes, while abiding by ATI operating procedures. This position provides supervisory support in larger affiliate contracts, where multiple outreach ATs may be providing support for the affiliate.

The Head Athletic Trainer acts as central contact point for the affiliate, coordinates scheduling and delegation of responsibilities among the Outreach Athletic Trainer team.

Responsibilities
  • Liaises directly with the affiliates’ Athletic Director (s) and Team physician (s), and ATI’s Outreach Athletic Trainers within a specific affiliate area with at least 3 ATI Athletic Trainers are staffed per the contract (s) terms.
  • Assists Sports Medicine Managers with quarterly check ins.
  • Coordinates staff Outreach Athletic Trainer schedules for the affiliate.
  • Responsible for administrative duties specific to the contract, including but not limited to NCAA documentation requirements (for collegiate level only), administrative audits, attending department meetings, processing insurance claims, etc.
  • Provide onsite comprehensive and coordinated care for athletes, including preventative solutions/interventions, sport enhancement training, sideline support to triage and assess potential injuries and staff, facilitate post-injury rehabilitation and return-to-sport, and support the Training Room.
  • Assist and monitor the rehabilitation treatment plan specific to the athlete and injury.
  • Coordinate in-clinic rehabilitation transitions with ATI’s PT/OT services where applicable to facilitate safe and timely return to sport.
  • Independently manage the relationship with the affiliate by maintaining a positive work atmosphere and effective communication with all stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Education
:
Master’s Degree

Minimum Experience Required: 5 years’ experience as an Athletic Trainer in an applicable setting

Preferred Experience
: 7 years' experience as an Athletic Trainer in an applicable setting

Licenses and Certifications Required:
Certification by the Board of Certification of the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification and appropriate state licensure that is current and in good standing required.
