Valid, unrestricted license in Speech Language Pathology in the state of Michigan (required)

Certifications:

Active American Heart Association BLS (required)

Must-Have:
Knowledgeable of skilled nursing home regulations, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to long-term care (required)

Description:

MUST BE WILLING TO COMPLETE MEDICAL AND FINGERPRINTS WITHIN 24-48 HOURS IF OFFERED. This position follows the clinical interview process. Candidates can expect outreach within two hours via phone and text where applicable, with decisions typically made the same day or next business day. Leads, guides, and directs the delivery of speech language pathology and audiology services in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, standards, and established facility policies and procedures.

Provides appropriate care and services to residents. Treats all residents with dignity and respect. Promotes and protects all residents' rights. Maintains confidentiality of protected health information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications. Reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel. Reports any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property, exploitation, or mistreatment of residents to supervisor and/or administrator.

Protects residents from abuse and cooperates with all investigations. Fulfills responsibilities as assigned during the implementation or activation of the facility's emergency plan. Follows established infection control policies and procedures. Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Must have patience, tact, and willingness to deal with difficult residents, family, and staff.

Ability to assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations. Makes independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Communicates with medical, nursing staff, and all departments. Accepts call-backs during emergency conditions.
