Newaygo County Mental Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated FULL-Time Outpatient Therapist to provide high-quality mental health services to adults and children.. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families in our community.
The Outpatient Therapist will provide assessment and psychotherapy services in an office-based setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals affected by trauma, mental health conditions, and co-occurring substance use disorders. Experience working with youth and familiarity with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for Substance Use Disorder are preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and family assessments and therapy sessions.
- Develop and implement person-centered treatment plans.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and therapeutic interventions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
- Support clients in identifying barriers and developing strategies for success.
- Use de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques when appropriate.
- Education:
Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling (MSW, MA) required. - Licensure: LLPC, LPC, LLMSW, LMSW, or LLP with appropriate State of Michigan licensure.
- Preferred: CAADC or Development Plan candidate.
- Experience:
Working with youth, individuals with co-occurring disorders, and trauma-informed care approaches. - Skills:
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities; proficient computer skills. - Other Requirements:
Valid Michigan driver’s license.
- Salary: $62,145–$77,182 based on licensure & experience
