Occupational Therapist
The Occupational Therapist evaluates and develops treatment plans for patients to improve their functional abilities. This role involves supervising support staff, educating patients and families, and coordinating care to promote optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients’ physical, neurological, and cognitive functions through formal and informal testing.
- Develop and implement goal-specific treatment plans aligned with physician directives.
- Document treatment plans, patient progress, and changes in condition accurately for compliance and billing purposes.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on pathology, therapeutic interventions, and prognosis.
- Supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants, aides, and students, ensuring adherence to standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and participate in team meetings to optimize patient care.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid license and certification as an Occupational Therapist, preferably NBCOT or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates considered.
- BLS certification required within 1 month of hire.
- Demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving skills in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team.
