Location BLH Bronson Lake View Hospital Title Physical Therapist Assistant, Full-Time, Outpatient Therapy | 1:1 Patient Care | Bronson Lake View, Paw Paw | $10,000 Sign-On Bonus

Position Summary Join Bronson Lake View's outpatient rehabilitation team and make a meaningful impact through our 1:1 patient care model, which allows you to build strong patient relationships and deliver personalized care that drives exceptional outcomes. Under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides skilled therapy services to patients recovering from injury, surgery, and musculoskeletal, neurological, and orthopedic conditions.

In this role, you'll help patients improve mobility, regain function, reduce pain, increase strength, and achieve greater independence while working in a collaborative and supportive outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Care
  • Deliver physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Implement treatment plans and goals established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Provide direct one-on-one patient care using therapeutic exercise, functional training, physical agents, and other prescribed interventions.
  • Instruct and motivate patients to actively participate in their rehabilitation programs.
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress and concerns to the supervising therapist.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding therapy goals, home exercise programs, and wellness strategies.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care discussions to support coordinated patient care.
  • Assist with program development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a clinical resource within areas of expertise.
  • Support student education programs and clinical rotations as assigned.
  • Provide coverage across Rehabilitation Services locations as needed.
Documentation & Administrative Responsibilities
  • Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation within the electronic health record.
  • Maintain complete, legible, and accurate patient records.
  • Communicate documentation barriers or workflow concerns to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Participate in department meetings, committees, task forces, and quality improvement activities.
  • Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills.
Leadership & Professional Development
  • Supervise Rehabilitation Clinical Assistants, PTA students, and volunteers as assigned.
  • Maintain and enhance clinical competencies through ongoing education and professional development.
  • Support a culture of teamwork, learning, and clinical excellence.
Qualifications Required
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current Michigan Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing.
  • BLS certification within three months of hire.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients, families, providers, and rehabilitation team members.
  • Basic computer, keyboarding, and electronic medical record skills.
Preferred
  • Previous Physical Therapist Assistant experience in an outpatient rehabilitation setting.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk frequently throughout the workday.
  • Ability to assist patients with mobility, transfers, and therapeutic activities.
  • Ability to lift, move, and position patients as needed.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies appropriate to the populations served.
