Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Ultrasound Technologist specializes in performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures to assist in evaluating pathological entities as prescribed by a physician. Performs related functions according to department protocols. Utilizes independent judgment in determining appropriate imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices.
Education & Experience- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or eligible to sit for an ARDMS examination.
- For eligible candidates, successful completion of SPI, Abdomen, and OB/GYN ARDMS examinations within 12 months of the date of hire.
- Failure to obtain registry within the designated timeframe will result in termination of the Ultrasound Technologist position.
- Must maintain required hours of continued medical education.
- Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
