Role DescriptionThe Speech Language Pathologist is a full-time, on-site role based in Howard City, MI, providing services to students across designated school buildings. This role includes evaluating students for speech, language, and communication needs, conducting formal and informal assessments, and developing individualized treatment plans. The Speech Language Pathologist will deliver direct and indirect therapy services, monitor progress, and adjust interventions as needed.
Daily responsibilities include collaborating with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams; contributing to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs); maintaining accurate documentation; and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The role also involves participating in school meetings, providing staff training on communication strategies, and supporting an inclusive learning environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in Speech Therapy and Speech intervention techniques.
- Knowledge and experience working with Communication Disorders and Language Disorders.
- Ability to assess and treat Dysphagia within school-based or pediatric practice guidelines, as appropriate.
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in Michigan.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred or eligibility in progress.
- Experience in school-based practice, including IEP development, progress monitoring, and collaboration with educational teams.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills, with the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
