Step into a rewarding contract opportunity for a skilled Occupational Therapist supporting students across two closely located districts. With a convenient commute just about 15 minutes between the locations this role covers both Bangor and Hartford, serving elementary and middle/high school students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. The school year contract runs from ASAP through June 4th, with standard weekday hours of 8:00am to 3:15pm (7.25 hours per day).
This assignment offers significant flexibility. The schedule is provider-determined, with past therapists splitting their time between two days at Hartford (elementary and MS/HS), two days at Bangor (elementary and MS/HS), and one flexible day for services, paperwork, or evaluations. Expect a caseload primarily in K-5, with occasional middle school student needs.
Key Qualifications &Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in school-based settings
- Comfortable working with early learners (K-5) and adapting for some middle schoolers
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to create engaging, individualized therapy sessions
- Open to the possibility of supervising a COTA
- Provide direct assessment and therapy for students with diverse needs across grade levels
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with special education teams, teachers, and families
- Manage documentation, progress notes, and periodic evaluations
- Adapt services and support to meet varied student requirements
