Patient Access Representative - Rockford, Evenings

Schedule Overview

• Week 2:
  Sunday 3p-11p, Monday 3p-9p, Wednesday 3p-9p, thursday 3p-9p
• Training:
  The first two weeks of training are M-F, 8a-430pm must be able to attend this

Schedule:

26 hours per week, Evenings

• Week 1:
  Monday 3p-9p, Wednesday 3p-9p, Thursday 3p-9p, Saturday 2p-10p
• Week 2:
  Sunday 3p-11p, Monday 3p-9p, Wednesday 3p-9p, Thursday 3p-9p
• Week 3:
  Monday 3p-9p, Wednesday 3p-9p, Thursday 3p-11:30p, Friday 3p-9p
• Training:
  The first two weeks of training are M-F, 8a-430pm must be able to attend this

• Provide patient focused customer service.
• Perform outpatient & / or inpatient registration & insurance verification functions;
• Collect patient financial liability payments & ensures that patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre-certifications & referrals.
• Provide general information to hospital users, patients, families & physician offices

• 1 year customer service experience, required
• HS Diploma or equivalent required
• Data entry skills (50 to 60 keystrokes per minute)
• Basic computer skills
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Interpersonal skills to work with internal and external customers.
• Accuracy and attentiveness to detail and time management skills.

• Medical terminology
• Knowledge of diagnostic & procedural coding Insurance verification with the ability to explain benefits, secure necessary authorizations
