JOB TITLE:
Speech and Language Pathologist-Shared w/ Local District
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
- Master's degree in speech and language pathology
OR
- Meet the requirements for speech-language certification by the American speech-language-hearing association
- Ability to impact subject matter. Skills to work cooperatively with students, parents, and staff.
- Demonstrated mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the essential duties of the position.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Complete comprehensive and timely speech and language evaluations for students.
- Provide case management for case load of students as assigned.
- Schedule, write, and conduct annual IEPs for students on caseload on a yearly basis.
- Provide consultative, group and direct therapy to students with speech and language impairments.
- Provide support for parents and families as needed to support the teaching of speech skills in the home.
- Consult and provide support to teachers, principals and other staff for students with speech and language concerns and caseload students.
- Complete ASD evaluations as part of the MET team and provide specialized support for students with ASD.
- Report services provided to Medicaid and other Federal and State funding Agencies.
