- Contingent Non-Benefitted, Day Shift Rate: $51.27 Flat Rate

• Provides quality patient care by considering the age specific, development and cultural needs through competent clinical practice.
• Demonstrates unit/area competencies.
• Identifies and assists in resolution of problems related to safety, sanitation and maintenance of the environment.
• Practices effective communication in all interactions (patient, visitor, co-worker, etc.)
• Promotes a positive work environment by demonstrating teamwork.
• Orients patients and families to the therapeutic purposes and procedures of Occupational Therapy.
• Instructs patients and families in individualized home programs.
• Participates in departmental quality assurance and improvement activities.
• Provides for his/her own professional growth and education and contributes to staff development activities.
• Supervises Occupational Therapy fieldwork students as assigned by the Clinical Coordinator or Student Program Coordinator.
• Stays up to date on all participating insurance guidelines for rehabilitation services.
• Provides thorough documentation on each patient interaction.
• Documentation must be timely and include all pertinent information required by state law, accrediting agencies and 3rd party payers.
• Completes daily charges for each patient while adhering to ethical practices per insurance guidelines for each payer.
• Works with site leader and secretarial staff to ensure schedules are managed well to achieve targeted productivity and clinic budget.
• Participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from accredited university and licensure in the State of Michigan.
• Certification with the NBCOT preferred.
• Experience working with SCI and TBI population is preferred.
