Working under the personal charge of a pharmacist
, you’ll provide essential pharmacy and patient support while helping create a positive experience for every patient.

• Assist pharmacists with preparing medications for dispensing.
• Fill vial drawers and prescription vials with prescribed tablets and capsules.
• Type labels for prescription packaging.
• Enter and process new and refill prescription information into the pharmacy computer system with assistance.
• Ensure all completed work is checked by a pharmacist.
• Print patient education materials and medication guides.
• Receive, verify, price, and stock medications and pharmacy supplies.
• Rotate inventory and remove outdated products according to pharmacy protocols.
• Count stock and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Sort and file prescription records.
• Answer telephone calls and direct questions to the pharmacist or appropriate technician.
• Assist patients at prescription pickup, including scanning prescriptions for electronic signatures and collecting applicable copays.
• Provide every patient with courtesy, compassion, and respect — especially during difficult or emotional situations.
• Clean equipment and sterilize glassware according to established procedures.
• Assist patients with placing unwanted medications into approved medication disposal receptacles.
• Follow pharmacy policies, procedures, safety standards, and infection-control practices.
• Work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Required

• High school diploma or GED; and
• One year of related experience and/or training;
  or
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.
