Overview

This Human Resources Business Partner position is designed to positively impact Live! Casino & Hotel by streamlining HR processes, collaborating with HR and operational departments, and enhancing employee relations. HRBPs will help identify, develop and groom team members for career advancement.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Partner:
    • Adjust HR strategies to respond to changing needs
    • Identify new business strategies
    • Identify talent issues before they affect the business
    • Develop the next generation of leaders
    • Prioritize across HR needs
    • Identify critical HR metrics
    • Review and critique performance reviews
    • Interview finalists for management roles
    • Collaborate with recruitment team to craft job descriptions
  • Operations:
    • Assess employee attitudes
    • Communicate organizational culture, policies and procedures
    • Ensure HR programs align with company culture
    • Keep managers and team updated on HR initiatives
    • Track trends in employee behavior
    • Attend pre‑shift and departmental meetings
    • Coordinate, enter, and manage employee files
    • Review exit interviews
    • Investigate, respond to payroll questions
  • Team Member Mediator:
    • Manage conflict between team members
    • Investigate employee relations issues for coaching
    • Respond to organizational changes
    • Manage competing and complex personalities
    • Resolve political problems in execution of objectives
    • Review files for employment verification requests
  • Emergency Responder:
    • Quickly respond to complaints and line manager questions
    • Prepare for different situations
    • Respond to team member needs and manager needs

Qualifications
  • Five to seven years of HR experience, including staffing/recruitment, benefits administration, employee relations, training and development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field; PHR or SPHR preferred; MS or MBA preferred
  • Ability to secure and maintain licensure as required by Virginia Gaming Control Board or other applicable regulatory entity
