DescriptionWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Workstation Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will focus on workstation deployment and configuration, will work closely with and assist network, cloud, and systems engineers as needed, and will augment and provide second-level help desk support to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and optimize the workstation deployment process to efficiently install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, desktop operating systems, and applications.
- Manage and track inventory of hardware and software assets.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware procurement, repairs, and replacements under warranty.
- Provide hardware and software recommendations in accordance with standards and policies.
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Act as primary point of escalation for help desk staff and provide guidance to improve team performance.
- Collaborate with network, cloud, and systems engineers to resolve complex technical issues.
- Develop and update documentation and guides for common technical issues.
- Utilize strong communication and problem-solving skills to provide technical assistance to diagnose and resolve advanced hardware, software, and network related issues.
- Other duties as assigned and not limited to just the above.
- Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems, applications, hardware, and networking components.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Efficient time management skills to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Customer-oriented with a patient and positive attitude.
- Ability to conduct training sessions with users and create training materials.
- Understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
- 3-5 years of help desk experience utilizing a ticketing system.
- Experience with device management tools such as Intune and Ninja
RMM. - Experience with Microsoft 365 licensing procurement and assignment.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+, Microsoft, or others are desirable.
- Completion of a technical program or an associate degree in a relevant field is desirable.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Education level:
Associates or equivalent. - Experience level: 3-5 years.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
