Location: Dimondale
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems. This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and implement database systems for Michigan State Police (MSP).
- Provide technical support to team members and evaluate new database solutions and technologies.
- Maintain, support, and assist specialist DBAs with installation and configuration of clustered database failover, replication, and backup solutions.
- Bachelor's degree with 21 semester credits in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management, or mathematics.
- Associate's degree with 16 semester credits in similar fields and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or IT technician; or four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, IT technician, or 8,320 hours as an IT student assistant may substitute for the education requirement.
- Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.
- Certification may be required in specific information technology programs.
- Eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $2,500 (up to $1,250 upon hire and the remainder after satisfactory completion of a 12-month probationary period). Not applicable to current state employees.
- Office location:
Lansing, MI. Hybrid work option: two days on-site per week and three days remote.
