Financial Information System (FIS) Database Manager
This position is responsible for assisting with database operations, data integrity, reporting, troubleshooting, system testing, and user support. The role works collaboratively with internal staff to ensure efficient system performance, accurate data management, and timely resolution of technical issues related to the Financial Information System (FIS) management package (Power School) for St. Clair County RESA customers.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems field preferred.
- Minimum two years' experience in customer support is desired, with knowledge of school business being highly valued.
- Good working knowledge of computer environments, including Windows, Microsoft Office, Google applications, web browsers, and email systems, is required.
- Experience with Power School Business Plus is desired, but training on the software will be provided.
- Strong knowledge with SQL Server, database structures, and query writing.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Power Shell and Python is preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn new applications and systems is essential.
- Candidates should be capable of supporting customers of varying skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
- Good written and verbal communication skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with co-workers, staff, school districts, community agencies, and the public is crucial.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide daily technical support to customers through telephone, email, and direct contact.
- Prepare training materials, written procedural guides, and technical documentation.
- Monitor database performance and assist with system updates, patches, and upgrades.
- Develop, modify, and maintain custom reports
- Create and maintain automated processes using tools such as Power Shell, SQL server jobs, or scripting languages
- Support data integrations between FIS Power School application and third-party systems
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask effectively
- Conduct quality assurance testing and documentation for new applications, features, and functionalities.
- Be self-motivated and willing to take on critical application-related tasks.
- Assist customers in developing specialized reports and implementing reporting changes.
- Make independent decisions and solve problems to contribute to the department's success, and provide backup assistance to peers as directed by the supervisor.

Non-union, at-will Duration: 12-month position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday

Commensurate with qualifications, experience, and job responsibilities $65,000 - $75,000
