Campus Technology And Facilities Support Technician
The Campus Technology and Facilities Support Technician is responsible for providing direct technical and instructional support to students, faculty, and staff at WSCC, including campus-wide audio-visual support, coordinated computer lab support, and support of computer desktop software and supporting services. This role ensures reliable operation of computer systems, audio-visual equipment, and classroom technologies to support the instructional and administrative mission of the College, while also providing scheduled and as-needed support for other WSCC facilities.
The Campus Technology and Facilities Support Technician also assists with event setup and basic facility support, as needed, and may require occasional weekend work to support events or operational needs.

Essential duties include:
- Deliver front-line support for computers, supporting services, and user accounts for faculty, staff, students, and community users.
- Assist with setup, operation, and troubleshooting of audio-visual equipment for classrooms, meetings, and campus events.
- Support computer labs and technology-enabled spaces, ensuring appropriate use and security.
- Respond to support tickets and provide basic troubleshooting support to students, faculty, and staff. Escalate complex support issues to other IT team members.
- Assist IT team members with the configuration, deployment, maintenance, and replacement of computer workstations and peripherals.
- Provide basic user orientation and support for standard campus software and classroom audio-visual technologies.
- Work collaboratively with IT, Facilities, Event Planning, and other campus departments to resolve issues efficiently and quickly.
- Assist with event setup and teardown, including room configuration and movement of furniture or equipment.
- Conduct routine building checks and report issues related to HVAC performance, lighting, doors, and general safety.
- Provide limited custodial or facilities assistance during events, peak operational needs, or staff absences.
- Maintain assigned tools and equipment in safe working conditions.
- Participate in campus meetings, training, or teams when assigned.
- Assist users with login, profile and multi-factor authentication issues.
- Assist other IT Team members with maintaining an accurate inventory for desktop workstations and peripheral devices.
Additional duties include:
- Perform light-duty facility support tasks when required, such as replacing light bulbs, making minor room adjustments, delivering packages/supplies, and basic troubleshooting.
- Know and follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain and safeguard assigned College equipment, software, and facility areas.
- Protect confidential information and ensure compliance with college policies and procedures.
- Ensure commitment to the highest business ethics and protect confidential information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Associate's degree in computer science, computer networking or related field OR equivalent combination of experience and education/training.
- Prior experience in technology support, facilities support, campus operations, or a related field.
Certifications and/or Licenses:
- Valid Michigan Driver's License
To be a best fit for this position, you will:
- Have experience troubleshooting computers, handling login issues and familiarity with classroom setups.
- Be comfortable doing light physical work, such as moving furniture for events, changing light bulbs and checking building lights and doors.
- Hold strong customer service skills to help students and staff.
- Possess a strong understanding of collaboration and be able to move easily between the IT and Facilities departments.
Salary Range: $44,407 - $53,336, commensurate with experience and education.
