** Position Summary*
* The intern will join the Manufacturing IT team at the Hemlock Solar Plant, supporting technology services used across the facility. Based on business needs and the intern's interests, the experience may include manufacturing execution systems, troubleshooting, reporting and visualization, databases, application development, infrastructure, cloud data platforms, or workflow automation.

** Key Responsibilities*
* + Learn the solar wafer manufacturing process and how technology supports plant operations.

+ Support enhancements, configuration, or development within the manufacturing execution system.

+ Assist with troubleshooting issues that affect manufacturing departments and physical processes.

+ Create or enhance reports and data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, SSRS, or AVEVA PI Vision.

+ Use SQL and database concepts to support data interactions and query development.

+ Contribute to custom solutions, full-stack applications, or web development based on business needs.

+ Support interactions with infrastructure, hardware, and plant technology systems.

+ Explore Databricks, Microsoft Power Automate, or other digital tools that improve plant processes.

+ Document technical work, testing, findings, and recommendations.

** Requirements*
* + Student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Analytics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

+ Ability to learn new technologies, processes, and business concepts quickly.

+ Effective written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

+ Self-motivated, organized, and willing to take initiative and learn.

+ Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May-August 2027) with a graduation date of December 2027 or later

+ Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.

+ Be willing to work at the posted job location

** Preferred Qualifications*
* + Familiarity with SQL, reporting and visualization tools, web development, or full-stack development.

+ Interest in manufacturing execution systems, plant applications, infrastructure, automation, or cloud data platforms.

+ Strong communication skills and willingness to engage with both physical and technical processes.
