This position is located in Belmont, Michigan, USA.
Your ContributionAs a Buyer/Planner at MAHLE, you will be responsible for overseeing supplier/subcontractor contract negotiations, issuing purchase orders and/or EDI releases for materials/services, and managing supplier relationships. This role serves as the face and voice of MAHLE within our supply base. You will conduct detailed analysis to influence action, negotiate contracts with suppliers, manage inventory, interface with quality on stock issues, and work within a budget.
Strong time‑management skills are essential, as projects may have tight deadlines and shifting priorities. You will collaborate with a team to provide the best alternatives, resolve supplier issues, and support lean practices by ensuring transparent orders, efficient inventory turns, and responsive service delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related field, or 8 years of direct experience in a similar role and industry in lieu of education.
- 2 years of direct related experience preferred.
- Problem solver – identifies and resolves problems promptly, gathers and analyzes information skillfully, develops alternative solutions, works well in group settings, and remains rational when dealing with emotional topics.
- Experience with statistical analysis and the ability to identify and anticipate stock issues.
- Ability to write and present detailed reports.
- Self‑motivated and self‑starter who enjoys a challenge and continuously seeks better ways.
- Excellent attention to detail, conscientious and diligent.
- Promotes and follows the business unit’s Core Efforts and Values.
