DescriptionResponsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead day-to-day planning operations for a regional or national network.
- Work directly with operations team to determine available capacity to remain in compliance with contract tender acceptance.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex or high-priority shipments. Set up relays as needed to expedite service.
Process Improvement & Optimization:
- Analyze load planning processes and recommend improvements to drive efficiency, cost savings, and service enhancements.
- Utilize data and KPIs to develop weekly performance reports and identify trends or opportunities.
- Implement and refine route optimization models in partnership with analytics or technology teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with operations and customer service to improve communication and planning accuracy.
- Work directly with sales to discuss planning efficiency with contract and non-contract (spot) business. Discuss shifts for capacity to become as efficient as possible.
System & Technology Ownership:
- Provide advanced support and training on transportation management systems (TMS).
- Lead system enhancement testing and feedback loops in partnership with IT or system vendors.
Compliance & Risk Mitigation:
- Monitor regulatory changes and update planning processes to maintain DOT and safety compliance.
- Audit load plans to ensure policy adherence and documentation accuracy.
Requirements:

- 5+ years of experience in load planning or transportation logistics.
- Proven leadership or mentoring experience.
- Strong knowledge of TMS platforms and routing optimization tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Logistics, or related work experience.
- Experience with large-scale fleet planning or dedicated fleet environments.
