Buyer, Supply Chain​/Logistics

The Purchasing Buyer plays a key role in executing commodity strategies and managing supplier relationships to support production and business objectives. This role is responsible for sourcing, quotation management, supplier selection, contract negotiation, and post-award administration. The Buyer partners closely with Engineering and cross-functional teams to identify and qualify suppliers for both new and existing programs, ensuring cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.

+ p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Develop, negotiate, and administer Long-Term Agreements (LTAs), including pricing, delivery schedules, and terms and conditions.

+ p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Lead supplier negotiations to achieve cost savings through volume commitments, minimum order quantities, and strategic sourcing initiatives.

+ p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Establish standard shipping methods and ensure accurate system setup for purchased items.

+ p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Evaluate and execute make-versus-buy decisions.

+ p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Create, issue, and manage RFQs, including analysis of supplier quotes.

+ p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Monitor supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality) and drive continuous improvement; identify and onboard alternate suppliers as needed.

+ p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Define first article inspection and quality assurance requirements where applicable.

+ p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Partner with Supplier Quality to resolve performance or compliance issues.

+ p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Address total cost concerns (TCC) and identify cost-reduction opportunities.

+ p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Serve as the first point of escalation for material planners; escalate to Purchasing Manager as needed.

+ p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Track and improve supplier KPIs, including on-time delivery (OTD) and quality metrics.

** Education and Experience*

+ p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Experience sourcing steel, engines, hydraulics, or electronic components preferred.
