The Director, Purchasing & Supply Chain, Americas is a key member of the Americas leadership team responsible for developing and executing the end-to-end procurement and supply chain strategy across the region. This role provides leadership for purchasing, sourcing, materials planning, inventory management, logistics, and supplier performance to ensure operational excellence, cost competitiveness, and uninterrupted supply to our customers. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Finance, Commercial, and Global Procurement teams, this role drives strategic initiatives that improve supplier performance, optimize inventory and working capital, reduce costs, mitigate supply chain risks, and support business growth.
The role balances short-term operational execution with long-term strategic planning, ensuring the organization can meet customer demand while building a resilient and high-performing supply chain. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader who can influence across functions, develop strong supplier partnerships, and lead teams through change while delivering measurable business results. This position plays a critical role in supporting the growth, profitability, and operational performance of the MRS Americas business.
- Lead the purchasing and supply chain strategy for MRS Americas, ensuring alignment with business objectives for growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
- Direct all sourcing, procurement, supplier management, and contract negotiation activities across the region.
- Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations, including demand planning, materials management, inventory control, logistics, and transportation.
- Drive cost reduction, purchasing productivity, working capital improvements, and inventory optimization initiatives.
- Ensure supply continuity and proactively mitigate supplier, commodity, and supply chain risks.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Finance, Quality, and Commercial teams to support customer requirements, new product launches, and business growth.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance, service levels, and operational efficiency.
- Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing Purchasing and Supply Chain organization, building talent, succession plans, and organizational capability.
- Serve as a key member of the MRS Americas Leadership Team, influencing strategic decisions and driving cross-functional collaboration to achieve business results.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field;
Master's degree preferred. - Progressive leadership experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, materials management, logistics, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management, inventory optimization, planning, logistics, and supply chain risk management.
- Proven track record of driving cost reduction, productivity improvements, working capital optimization, and operational performance.
- Experience developing and executing supply chain strategies that support business growth and customer requirements.
