Substitute Custodian

The substitute custodial employee is responsible for maintaining assigned areas. Employees will work closely with their immediate supervisor to provide a safe and clean environment for students, teachers and other staff. Custodial employees may be assigned to special projects related to the needs of the district.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Familiar with basic custodial equipment
• Willing to work first and/or second shift
• Valid Michigan driver’s license

• Keeps assigned interior areas neat, clean, in attractive condition according to district standards
• Operates equipment, i.e. floor scrubbers/polishers, carpet cleaning equipment
• Keeps assigned exterior areas and premises including sidewalks safe, neat and clean at all times as appropriate to the assignment
• Sets up, arranges and moves furniture and equipment for meetings and other events within and between facilities as required.
• Responsible for opening, closing, and overall building security as assigned.
• Cleans rooms, toilet facilities, corridors, walls, floors, windows and other areas in accordance with district standards.
• Documents daily work activities on forms as established for the program/assignment.
• Reports supply and repair needs to building to supervisor
• Performs minor repairs, preventive maintenance and maintains equipment/building/grounds.
• Must be physically able to bend, stoop, lift, squat, carry, stand, climb, push/pull and use other motor skills necessary to perform the essential duties as needed
• Follows daily work schedules and communicates work that was not completed to supervisor

• Intermittent position
• Reimbursement for Background Check cost

Maintenance Supervisor

$15.08 per hour with generous pay increases. Contracted through GECs
