Position Summary

Maintenance Technician are responsible for proactively performing routine maintenance inspections and performing general maintenance of equipment, facility, and grounds. They are also responsible for transporting products and handling deliveries in a timely manner, following traffic laws, correctly routing themselves, ensuring the vehicle has enough gas, and maintaining a safe working condition.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or other preventive actions.
  • Start machines and observe mechanical operations to determine efficiency and detect problems.
  • Repair machines, equipment, or structures using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, precision measuring instruments, or electronic testing devices.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions, consulting blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as needed.
  • Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
  • Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies to maintain and replenish stock.
  • Perform general cleaning of buildings or properties, which may include snow removal.
  • Paint or repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures.
  • Operate vehicles, mechanized devices, or equipment such as forklifts and passenger vehicles, ensuring safe operation.
  • Use company vehicle to perform on‑time deliveries and pick‑ups.
  • Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather conditions.
  • Use navigation applications to determine the best route.
  • Professionally represent Shurco in interactions with clients, vendors, and the general public.
  • Ensure the vehicle is fueled, clean, and in good working order; report any maintenance concerns to the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Required DOT Physical, Medical Exam, and Chauffeur license.
  • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates – providing information by telephone, in written form, e‑mail, or in person.
  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work – developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
  • Microsoft Office:
    Spreadsheet, Word, Calendar, and internet browser.
  • Five years of previous work‑related skill, knowledge, or experience.
  • Ability to maintain an acceptable driving record for automobile insurance coverage.
  • Ability to drive safely without distractions and troubleshoot routing and traffic.
  • Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate channels.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock.
  • Noise level is usually moderate.
